Holy moly I’m not quite sure what to say except that this was incredible. Bromance? Tragic love doomed to fail?? LOVERS TO ENEMIES BUT STILL LOVERS? Could my morning get any better??

HURGGGG my heart T-T this is worse than getting eaten by your lover.

Oh man! This is beautifully crafted and written, Tamsin! I did not see that plot twist coming (especially since I only learned about the Flash Fiction Challenge today, haha)! Amazing work!

Thank you! Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy more stories from the prompts. We will see how much time I have 😅.

The battlefield, the sky ships, the frozen loyalty, all of it held me tight, but what stayed was that quiet promise. Holding on until he could defrost. Love as a temperature. Love as survival. Love as the one thing war could not burn away. That fall through pastel sky felt earned, not soft, but earned. And when the cold finally loosened its grip, I exhaled with them.

So cool! You are a master, Tamsin.

Cozy and death together. I'm glad she went with him, otherwise, only sad, but still great

Tamsin G.'s avatar

Thank you so much!!! Yes it would be way too sad.

I love this, the description of the pastel skies, the battlefield on airships, and that heart-pounding ending ❤️ they both chose love over war, even if they sacrificed life. A beautiful one, Tamsin!

She came for Glen. Both ways… first by the attack, and then to die with him.

I love how unexpectedly powerful Lillian is… not the helpless female waiting for the soldiers return, but directing the battle.

And there is true love…

Tamsin G.'s avatar

So glad you noticed that!

The war description was so vivid - I saw colours and was imagining painting the scene while reading this! Superb!

Tamsin G.'s avatar

Thank you! I thought it would be a nice contrast.

Oh, this was good. A sad but inevitable ending. I love it.

Tamsin G.'s avatar

I couldn't think of a happy ending for them 😭

WiseWomanWickedTongue's avatar

It would not be as good with a happy ending. They had to die…I mean defrost.

Exactly!!! 😂
